I grew up in New Jersey and have been to my share of the Jersey Shore but must admit this was my first time to Lon Beach Island. LBI is a barrier island along the Atlantic Ocean coast of Ocean County with a single causeway access point. Once on LBI the rest of the world melts away and you definitely forget about city life and all your frustrations. I spent the weekend at the beach (working on my tan) and by the bay as I rented a jet ski and went on a thrill ride. If you are looking for a mini getaway from NYC, LBI is a great place to visit and with only a few weeks left of summer I highly suggest it!
