Polka Dots

Monday, May 22, 2017

I take any chance I can get to-
a. wear a leather jacket over a dress (also seen here
 b. kick off my heels and wear a pair of sneakers (also seen here)
c. add a pop of color to a black and white look (also seen here)

I threw together this look to meet a friend for brunch at Cafe Medi down on the Lower East Side. Because spring is the time of year when the weather can change in a heartbeat a leather jacket (like this one from Wilsons Leather) is the perfect layering item that you can grab on the go.

I bought this dress at Zara, it's off the shoulder which I love and the back has a cute cut-out that ties in a bow which is great for showing off in the warmer months. I am totally crushing on polka dots this month (also seen here) I tend to gravitate towards the smaller polka dots because I love the subtlety of the pattern.

And, as a true New Yorker you know majority of the time you can find me in some sort of black and white or grey ensemble. Because I like to keep the outfit palette simple a pop of color is always in order. This tote by Tess Handbags is one of my go-to pieces when I need a pop of color. It's bright, it's fresh and it holds everything I need from my makeup bag to even my camera which makes it great for traveling.
