I had not been to South Street Seaport in quite sometime and the change has been quite incredible. I remember coming into the city when I was younger and visiting downtown - the intrepid was located at the seaport and the mall was there but the area was still a bit unimpressive. Big names such as Cynthia Rowley, SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker and Roberto Cavalli have opened outposts signing onto the vision promoted by the owner of the Seaport- Howard Hughes Corp. that seeks to redefine the district and give it a fresh chance. Not to mention the beer gardens and all the cute places to eat in the area.
Last week I got the chance to shoot some cute looks for you guys while exploring the area and falling in love with the quaint cobblestone lined streets.
So what is there to do down there?
IPic Theater: Upscale cinema chain with plush seating, gourmet light bites & cocktails, plus in-theater service. Located in the Fulton Building.
Garden Bar: Grab a drink surrounded by the neighborhood's historic buildings
The Lookout: This is a summer pop-up so if you want to check it out you have to go soon, have a cocktail with great views and unique decor!
