In The Studio

Wednesday, September 17, 2014

I first met Nicole Lenzen during Fall 2014 Fashion week (seen here) where she participated in a Made in NY exhibit featuring designers from the area. I briefly chatted with her while previewing her beautiful line and set up a Q&A with her that I published on my blog.

Fast Forward a few months later (in the midst of all the madness of Spring 2015 NYFW) I packed up my camera, hopped on the L train and headed out to Brooklyn to visit Nicole in her studio where all the magic happens! The past few months alone have been a whirlwind for the designer as she has  participated in multiple Fashion Events throughout the city. A few notable ones include: The Fashionista Show during NYFW sponsored by Tide as part of the #WashableFashion campain, A Kickstarter campaign to support a collaborative space for creativity and, Nicole has been chosen as a finalist in the DENYC Program (Design Entrepreneurs NYC) in association with the NYC Economic Development.

This year seems like it's off to a great start for Nicole and I love nothing more than supporting new designers. Take a peek into her studio and later this week check back for a close up of my favorite pieces from the line!

Nicole has an eye for Fashion and styling! The decor in her studio is chic and classic!

Behind the scenes:

It was fascinating to see Nicole at work, she uses a half scale dress form (yes, it appears even smaller!) to drape and get the right dimensions in her pins and folds when making her patterns.
