How to Style a Shirt Dress & Where to go in the Meatpacking District

I can not believe that Thanksgiving is next week- time has flown by so quickly! I am headed out to New Jersey to spend Turkey day with family and can not wait to have a few days off of work primarily so I can stay up and shop all of the Black Friday Sales. In all honesty though, there have been so many great sales leading up to Black Friday but there is nothing like the thrill of staying late after eating so much and finding those great deals.
While there is nothing specific that I am looking for this year I never shy away from shopping for clothing! I can tell you now that I will be stocking up on sweaters to get me through the New York Winter and perhaps a new pair of Winter boots & a warm jacket to cold months.

As for my Thanksgiving outfit this year, I have quite a few in the running but I am sure I am going to make a last minute decision. I have rounded up quite a few the past weeks that are in the running (see all here) but I am the type of gal that has to decide on that day what I am in the mood to wear- I know you girls feel me on this one!

I have had my eye on this shirt dress (use code Hifashinny20 for 20% off) for a while now and have worn it quite a few times since it arrived in my closet. I love how it pairs with these tall boots and makes for the perfect day to night look or even for a date night. I wore it for date night with my husband, we met in the Meatpacking District, one of my favorite areas in NYC. I love the history of the area and I am a total sucker for those cobblestone streets. If you are in NYC the night before Thanksgiving it is my favorite night to go out- there is some kind of magic in the air that makes it extra special.

Here are a few of my favorite spots in the Meatpacking District:

The Standard Biergarten Grab a few tickets at the entrance for some traditional German Fare (think beer and hot pretzels). Sit under the heat lamps or play a game of ping-pong in their outdoor garden.

Bubby's Highline Who doesn't love comfort food at all hours of the day? Try their Buttermilk Biscuits- you won't be dissappointed!

Fig & Olive I have been to a few of their locations in NYC but the one in the Meatpacking is my favorite one. It's large space lends itself to bigger parties and their food is absolutely delicious! I love mixing and matching the Crostinis- I can make an entire meal from these!

Santina This is a cute little spot under the Highline with great cocktails and the cutest ambience!

Barbuto NYC A Jonathan Waxman restaurant that opened in an airy garage space on the ground floor of Industria Superstudios. I went here a few years ago for my Birthday and it's definitely on my list of places I need to go back to.
