How to Layer for Fall

Friday, November 2, 2018

We have finally made it to month of November and I told you all that I would be bringing you major Holiday Style inspiration this month. With Thanksgiving right around the corner it is always good to have your style in check and to make sure you are well prepared when it comes to looking good for the season. There is nothing like that last minute fashion panic and I am here to make sure you can leave the panic attack behind and enter the season looking fabulous!

I have showed you some ways to take your Summer dresses into Fall by adding a leather moto jacket or bomber (seen here) but I am also loving the idea of layering of a cardigan or a jacket such as this notch collar frayed coat over a lighter weight dress. A few weeks ago I visited the Seek No Further pop-up shop in NYC and scooped up this cute pleated hi-lo dress. While I would have loved to wear it through the warmer months alone it has simply become too chilly in NY to wear it without a layer.

This notch collar frayed coat is only $36 (& you can use code Hifashinny20 for 20% off your order) and had the cutest details (have you seen the pearl buttons?) and you know I am all about black and white (usually my go-to pairing). This pleated hi-lo dress is under $40 and is one of my most comfortable dresses that I own. Seek No Further is a division of Fruit of the Loom and they just launched a clothing line filled with great pieces that mix seamlessly into your wardrobe and are both comfortable & versatile. Their pieces are great to wear from desk to dinner which is always a plus for a New Yorker on the go.

I spent some of last weekend pulling out my tall boots from my closet- up until now I have only been wearing booties but I think it is about time (plus you can still go sans tights when you wear them). I paired this look with these casual chic tall boots from Me Too- the front is suede and the back has a stretch calf making pulling them on easy.

As for the accessories which I never leave home without them and I just came across this new designer Karine Sultan via Lavishly Hip and absolutely fell in love with the designs. Karine Sultan is a family owned business founded in 1986. The line of jewelry is made from flexible metal called pewter and then plated with 24 karat gold and or sterling silver. I love mixed metals so these square dangle jacket stud earrings caught my eye. The pieces in the collection are absolutely perfect for the Holiday season and not only complete any look but make for wonderful Holiday gifts and you can take 20% off with my code FASHINNY20.
