Us New Yorkers never want the weekend to end and try to extend it as long as possible living for each moment and who can blame us! With so much to do in this city you got to soak it all in, ok I admit there are those weekends that all I want to do is veg on the couch but I am trying to take advantage of the city before it gets too cold!
This past weekend I headed to Midtown Manhattan to Monarch Rooftop Bar & Indoor Lounge for a drink and some bites with my girlfriend Katya from the blog Style Sprinter. Did you know that she only lives one block from me? But, with our busy schedules we always need to carve out time to make sure we get that girl time to gab, laugh and just have a good time.
We grabbed the cutest drinks off the menu (obviously), Katya grabbed the cotton Candy Crush (vodka, white grape juice, blue curacao, fresh lemonade and cotton candy) and I grabbed the Painkilla (dark rum, creme of coconut, fresh pineapple, orange juice & lemon lime zest). We also added on a few apps opting for the mini avocado toast (I can never seem to pass this up) and the pommes frites (I am never one to turn down fries) and had a blast nibbling, drinking and chatting for hours.
Of course we ended up on the rooftop at prime time, just as the sun started to set and of course we had to nab a few shots on the gorgeous rooftop. While it's getting a bit too chilly in NYC to sit outside the Monarch had a great indoor section on the rooftop with phenomenal views that is perfect for those looking for that rooftop bar vibe.
I can not wait to return, I am sure it won't be too long!
