Work to Play: NYC Style

I love darker florals that can take you through any season of the year and when you find the perfect dress on sale for $20 you have to scoop it up. I wore this a few weeks back as I headed out to brunch at While We Were Young, a New York City Instagram friendly hot spot (seen here & here) in the West Village. If you are ever in the New York area I highly recommend stopping by and even if you're not in for brunch grab a drink because their cocktail menu is unbelievable!

I paired this dress with a pair of over the knee boots (this is a similar pair) and one of my favorite work to play handbag, The Poppin by Jemma New York. This tote can also be worn as a backpack a crossbody or a satchel and is perfect for a girl on the go like most New Yorkers. I often have breaks in my day either in between work or events and love to take my laptop with me and grab a latte as I work. My laptop fits perfectly in this bag and there is still enough room for all the other little things a girl needs on the go.

And as you all know, I am the gal that never leaves home without her jewelry. In fact, one day I got to work and realized I wasn't wearing earrings and had to buy before getting to my desk! To make sure I don't have another moment like that I leave a set of jewelry by my nightstand that I switch out each week to make sure that I get a good jewelry rotation in. These Davenport Earrings by Melissa Lovy and this Artisan Steel Bangle Set from Hamilton Jewelers have actually been in a constant rotation as I just can't get enough. I love that you can pair these pieces with anything from a dress for a black tie event or a floral dress like the one I wore to brunch.
