One Weekend in Chicago

A few weeks ago I flew to the Windy City for a friends wedding. Being that it was my first time in Chicago I reached out to a few Chicago based bloggers for some recommendations on where to go and what to see. Of course being that my time was limited I didn't get to do it all but I was able to do a few tourist-y things.

While in Chicago I at the Hyatt Centric Loop, a trendy boutique hotel (with a great rooftop bar!) that is located in the heart of the Financial District and surrounded by great shopping. I walked around State Street and picked up a few great items (that I then had to shove in my carry-on but it was well worth it) and enjoyed wandering around town. I enjoyed wandering by the water and exploring the Chicago Riverwalk and even though I didn't get to do the boat tour just walking around the area was beautiful.

And of course, what is a trip to Chicago without a visit to the Clous Gate aka The Bean located in Millennium Park. Cloud Gate was designed by British artist Anish Kapoor and was his first public outdoor work installed in the US. Inspired by liquid mercury, the sculpture is amount the largest in the world measuring 66 feet long by 33 feet high and is definitely a sight to see!
