Emerald Bay

Emerald Bay is a state park of California centers on Lake Tahoe's Emerald Bar, a National Landmark.  The park is home to Eagle Falls and Vikingsholm- Tahoe's hidden castle. The park contains the only island in Lake Tahoe- Fanette Island that is accessible by boat from the beach areas of Emerald Bay.

We spent the morning hiking from the view point down to the beach area passed Vikingsholm and looped back up through waterfalls and great mountainside views. From these view points one can see why Mark Twain dubbed Lake Tahoe as "the fairest picture the whole earth affords."

The afternoon was spent sitting on the porch at our sweet little designer cabin via VRBO. We enjoyed playing music out back and sipping on some local beers and ciders before heading out to dinner in Tahoe City. And then...because we had to...we visited the Crystal Bay Casino to cash in before the night was over!

We chose Garwoods on the pier so we could sip some wine and enjoy dinner while watching the sunset and we enjoyed every bit (and bite).
