When I was younger my family used to take an end of Summer vacation to the Poconos and every year we would go horseback riding. It's been years but when we booked Tahoe horseback riding was the first thing I said I wanted to do. We booked a 2 hour ride at Alpine Meadow Stables and rode through the mountains and the Truckee river and I loved every minute. It definitely brought me back to my childhood and I was excited to experience this again.
After our visit to the meadow we drove to Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows- home of the 1960 Winter Olympics. We rode the aerial tram up to the top where there are views of Lake Tahoe from 8,200' that are incredible.
