While I am all for relaxing on the beach and sunbathing I do love a bit of adventure when on vacation. Lucky for me, the Occidental Xcaret had everything I was looking for located on the grounds. Along the coastline of the ocean was this Mayan Ruin that you were able to walk to by a pathway. There are plenty of Mayan Ruins located all over Mexico that are open to tours but I loved the fact that all I had to do was walk down the beach and have one on the grounds of my resort. It adds historic value and culture to the property and provides a beautiful background when you look down the coastline.

My second day in Mexico was spent wandering through the ruins before getting some time to relax on the beach for the afternoon. The beach area at the resort is like nothing I have ever experienced before with natural pools carved out into the ocean.

Before dinner I headed to the XCaret Park, just a quick walk or romantic gondola ride from the Occidental Xcaret to see the Mexico Espectacular performance. This performance led me on an incredible journey through Mexican History and their culture and was the perfect way to start my second night in Mexico.
