Palm Springs: Travel Diary

Tuesday, September 8, 2015

I can't believe it was a little over a week ago that I boarded a plane headed for San Diego, hopped in a car and drove towards the deserts of Palm Springs. When searching for a place to visit, I wanted it all, some relaxation (poolside) some adventure (outdoors, hiking, taking in the beauty) mixed with some glitz and glamour (since the 1920's Palm Springs has been a Hollywood escape for celebrities to relax and escape from the hustle of showbiz) and Palm Springs had it all!
Day 1 was spent relaxing by the pool (we rented a house via VRBO: Villa De CasaNova) and catching some desert rays followed by dinner at Birba: Palm Springs. Opened in 2011 Birba is a Danish design inspired restaurant/lounge offering urban dining with outdoor fire pits, couches and a sprawling Carrera marble bar. Open from Wednesday through Sunday 6pm-11pm Birba  is a romantic joint with farm-to-table selections. The waitress walked us through the menu and I was sold on the house made pasta and ravioli- both were delicious! Birba is great for both food and drinks and with a romantic atmosphere and hip vibe this was the perfect place to dine out on my first night in Palm Springs.

If you are in Palm Springs you don't want to miss this one, go check it out for yourself!
