One of the greatest things about traveling is getting to explore around town and since the Breezes Resort is about 15 minutes away (accessible by public transportation or by cab) heading in to town was a breeze. When visiting Nassau, the straw market is a must- it’s home to handmade Bahamian crafts, gifts, souvenirs and items such as hand-woven straw hats, bags, mats, dolls, conch shell jewelry and wood carvings. I myself could not resist and scooped up a few items to bring back to NY as gifts. I was amazed at what downtown Bahamas has to offer, you can find everything from Cartier to Fendi mixed in with local shops that give the Bahamas it's own flair.
