On The Street: Jewels

Monday, September 23, 2013

Every season I enjoy heading to the tents and surrounding studios for NYFW- but suprisingly it's not just about what is on the runway. The street style outside the shows always catches my eyes and I love being in the mix of it snapping pictures, catching the new styles and being in the forefront of it all. I bumped into designer Jacob Z and artist Katia Kull outside the Maison Martin Margiela NYFW fashion show held at a private studio in the meatpacking district.
Jacob Z. has always had a passion for jewelry and design that he was able to express through modeling. After being exposed to the industry he began to which design his my own clothing and jewelry.  At first his jewelry was made exclusively for himself but then he extended to his family and friends and finally opening up to the public as orders started pouring in. The designs behind the brand Jacob Z. are always changing- his inspiration is organic stemming from his surroundings, experiences, and love. His jewelry is very zen and deep and yet effortless and uncomplicated. He uses semi-precious stones and crystals along with metal/sterling silver charms and findings.

Jacob Z's latest collection was created exclusively  for Tres Chix's boutique Fashion Week event the collection included vintage marcasite and pearl charms.
