Behind the Scenes with Torregrossa

I have always had an affinity towards sisters working together in the design field. Perhaps because I own a headband company with my sister, perhaps it is the sister bond, but whatever the reason it always catches my eye! This past week I had the unique opportunity to meet Bridget and Megan Torregrossa-  a sister team making a splash in the handbag industry at their design headquarters in Brooklyn, NY. With a background in the industry (Megan started designing at age 13, attended FIT and worked for Ralph Lauren, Bridget went to Marymount graduating with a degree in PR and business management and landed a job at Burberry) they decided to take the plunge and combine their savvy knowledge to create their own handbag collection.

They entered the fashion world in Spring 2010 exclusively selling on their website and have since become staples in a few upscale boutiques in the Tri-State area. Their unique bags are high-end luxury bags, made from exotic materials priced from $600-$1650. Although they source fabric from overseas (mainly best quality goods from Italy) their products are solely made in NY, filling a need to bring back manufacturers to our city.

Take a peek into the lives of the Torregrossa girls with an exclusive sneak peak into their studio and all the details that make their bags fabulously unique.
