Yarn bombing is the latest craze to take to the streets of New York. Yarn bombing combines the art of crochet with knit graffiti and became popular in 2009 with the publications of the book "Yarn Bombing: The Art of Crochet and Knit Graffiti," by Mandy Moore and Leanne Prain, knitters from Vancouver, Canada.
Before knowing that yarn bombing was an actual form of street art I snapped this picture about two months ago in the East Village as I passed by. I kept it on my phone and forgot about it until yesterday when I came across my second NYC yarn bombing finding sparking some internet research.
Now I am on a hunt to find more in the city!
