Viva La Velvet

What is lush, rich and sought after by every fashionista out there? That's right, it's velvet! Not only did it hit the runways of every major fashion house from Rochas to Armani it was also featured in so many different ways making velvet one of the most versatile trends for Winter 2010.

I am used to seeing the pretty side of velvet, draped into beautiful silhouettes perfect for a black tie affair or a red carpet event but, I was surprised to see the "Glam Velvet Fashion" hit the runway this season. I love the way they took a fabric that had become so one dimensional and transposed it into a grungier funkier style while maintaining the glamor of the fabric itself.

So if you are ready to rock out but keep up your style points rock out in velvet!
