Flash sample sales on the internet such as Gilt Groupe, HauteLook, Rue La La have been making it easy to shop cutting costs of regular priced designer goods. And while new sites such as these pop up daily I have been waiting for something with a new twist to catch my eye.
Welcome I-ELLA, the invitation only marketplace where you can edit your own wardrobe and shop celebrity closets while supporting social change. I-ELLA has been dubbed as the "Gilt Groupe meets E-bay website" where buyers can buy, borrow, swap and sell clothing.
I-ELLA features:
Buy/Sell: suggested 30%-40% discount over retail
Borrow: Items are lent out for 1week-1month, lender chooses the cost
Swap: a $5 fee per item to swap
Charity: 10% of each transaction is donated to one of three charities chosen by the buyer.
I-ELLA will officially launch on September 9th, the first day of Fashion Week. I have started my count down...Can't wait to start swapping away!
