Buy Now...Wear Through Spring!

Monday, September 13, 2010

Ahh Fashion Week, the lights, the cameras, the loud music pumping, the throngs of crowds and the models roaming NYC streets. And that is only the beginning! I have yet to make it to Lincoln Center to be part of the organized chaos that has consumed NYC but I plan to pop in this week to experience some of the magic first hand. Until then I have been relying on my front row seat in front of my computer tracking the shows, the who, wear, whats and the fashions that have been unfolding.
In the past few years most NY-ers have been trying to extend their buck by buying a few key pieces to round out their wardrobe and wearing them for more than one season. Well, consider yourself lucky...I have been keeping track of the Fall trends that have been extending through the Spring Runways so that if you only make a few purchases this year you might consider these on top of your to buy lists.

1. Oxfords:

Hold the heels, Richard Chai footed his models in Metallic Oxfords putting the ease in their strides.

2. Gray
TRIAS, Rebecca Minkoff and Malandrino Spring 2011 Runway Looks

TRIAS, Rebecca Minkoff and Catherine Malandrino showed that Gray continues to be a power color by choosing the hue to take center stage on their runway shows.

3. Camel and Leather:
Erin Featherson, Wes Gordon, Cynthia Steffe and Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2011 Runway Looks

Camel is neutral enough to wear with anything and versatile enough to last you for a few seasons. Wear it alone or pair it with leather to add an edge to your basics.
