In Between Seasons

Monday, March 27, 2017

Spring is my favorite season in New York- the days get a bit warmer and you can shed a few layers in the process. No more puffer jackets, or layering on the hats and gloves which makes it easier to get out explore New York without the bulk!
This cardigan is one of my favorites for this season- I bought it mid-winter and it never looked quite right under a jacket but when wearing alone it is perfect. I paired this cardigan over a bodysuit (also seen here) and one of my favorite pairs of jeans from articles of society (that I grabbed at the nordstrom sale last season).

Because we are still in the in between season I opted to pair this look with these fringe booties by Koolaburra by Ugg. Koolaburra is the little sister to the Ugg company with prices under $100. The line infuses the same laid back, effortlessly chic styles that are well known to Ugg and are perfectly comfortable to wear from brunch to dinner in style.

Tropical Romance

Thursday, March 16, 2017

After wearing quite a bit of floral patterns in Mexico I have a new-found love for the print. With so many different styles and patterns the options are endless and as we enter spring I am adding a few floral items to my wardrobe.
This floral chiffon dress (also seen here) was so easy to pack (wrinkle free) and the colors looked great in a tropical location. The details of this dress are what grabbed my attention as I loved the pleats that wrapped around the middle of the dress.

Mules are what it's all about for this spring and summer and these multi color mules are from Valentina by Rangoni (similar style). They are super comfortable and super easy to wear in the warmer months and I am looking forward to stocking up on multiple pairs-and am eyeing anything from flats to block heel styles.

Beach Coverups

Wednesday, March 15, 2017

What is more gorgeous than an infinity pool with an ocean view behind it? As I sit here in New York with snow melting on the streets I am completely missing this view and the 80 degree weather. I love vacationing but it is always hard to come back to reality, especially when reality is cold! This coverup is one of my favorites from Asos- Asos is one of my favorite websites to shop especially since I know I am always going to find something. And since I am already planning my next beach vacation (in June) I am rounding up a few of my favorite coverups that I have my eye on.

Feeling Tropical

Tuesday, March 14, 2017

For our Mexico Vacation this year we stayed at Secrets Silversands in Riviera Cancun. Located just 20 minutes from the Cancun airpot, this vacation was just perfect for everything we were looking for. We upgraded our suite to a room with an outdoor space that led straight to the pool and never had to save a chair or worry about getting a spot to relax. The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous and we enjoyed walking around and taking it all in. The hotel is on a private beach and has 8 restaurants and 10 outdoor pools. Having a pool right outside our suite made it feel like it was a private vacation adding a special touch to the week.

I absolutely love this open front flower embroidered kimono from Shein, it is such a great piece for a vacation or even a date night on the town (paired with jeans and heels). I threw this lace kimono over an open front black bodysuit and a pair of denim cutoffs for the perfect resort look.

Exploring Mexico

Monday, March 13, 2017

The temperatures in NYC dropped this past week and we are expecting a huge storm on Tuesday- since I am still in denial about the weather I began to upload my vacation pictures and finally got the chance to go through them. My boyfriend and I decided to book a last minute getaway right after NYFW and headed to Mexico for some much needed R&R. He was in London the week prior for work and I had been running around like a chicken without a head from event to event for NYFW. A trip to Mexico could not have come at a better time.

We visited Mexico last year for New Years (seen here) and were busy everyday exploring the eco-reserve that we stayed on. It was a fabulous trip but we did not have much beach or pool time so we were looking forward to just RELAXING! And we did just that! We did wander around the hotel a bit and walk the beach but majority of the vacation was spent unwinding.

I found this old Spanish style abandoned house by the beach when we were walking one day and I fell in love with the structure. Honestly, I wouldn't mind moving in and living the beach life in Mexico filled with fresh fruit and avocado. The weather was just perfect every day with minimal clouds and weather in the mid 80's- the only time in rained was the evening before we left so to say the vacation was perfect would be an understatement.

I received this floral print shift dress from Shein right before my trip and thought it was the perfect piece to take along. I actually wore it twice- once during the day over a bathing suit and then again at night to dinner. I love the style of this shift dress and the pattern was perfect for a beach getaway.
