Floral & Cognac

Thursday, October 20, 2016

While the weather in NYC has been all over the map, I am happy to squeeze in a few more days of bare legs before covering them up for the winter. Lately I have been trying to add more prints and a little bit more color into my wardrobe and this navy vintage print dress was a perfect addition to my closet. After receiving it 3 weeks ago I have worn it to dinner to work and out for drinks making it the most worn piece in my closet this season (and I am not ashamed of that!).

I paired this floral print with cognac accessories, these shoes I bought a few weeks ago when I was visiting Chicago and found a way to shove them into my carry-on to bring them home. And this bag...let's talk about this bag! I love a bag that makes it easy for me to tote my stuff around New York City and this leather backpack by Vera Bradley looks chic and does just the trick.

Luv It

Tuesday, October 18, 2016

This past month I moved to a new apartment and in the process I was able to closet purge. My closet has inevitably become a nightmare filled with items I was holding onto for no reason. In the clean out I was able to jot down a few "must have items" for Fall that I was lacking and since I am addicted to online shopping I turned to the new LUV.IT app to help me stock up on my needs.

So what is LUV.IT ? LUV.IT is a one stop shopping app that lets you collect your favorite items kind of like Pinterest. After you tap the heart and "luv it" the photo is collected on your page and stored. You can shop immediately (like I did) or come back later and pick out what you need. When you do shop you get cash back with every purchase which means if you buy it you get a kick back but also if someone else buys something you shared you get a kick back as well!

Fall Feels

Monday, October 17, 2016

I never considered myself a hat person but when I received this hat in my popsugar must haves box I decided to give it a go. With it feeling like fall outside I paired this hat with this black and white fringe cardigan and otk booties.

After trying the hat trend I think I am hooked, first of all ladies let's talk about hats for bad hair days- I am now all over that! And second, let's talk about drab to fab in 2.5 seconds... Throw on a hat and go!

What I wore: black and white fringe cardigan Shein c/o, Hat: Jack & Lucy Popsugar c/o, OTK Boots Stuart Weitzman

This Jack and Lucy hat was hand-selected to be featured in the POPSUGAR Must Have Box and is one of my favorite accessories right now. Subscribe to the Must Have Box by clicking ---> here.

OTS & Ripped Jeans

Friday, October 14, 2016

Would you believe it if I told you that I have had these jeans since high school? I found them at Hot Topics (yes of all places) at a mall in New Jersey- they were selling vintage Levi's and I had to grab them. Of course over the years there have been times where I just stashed them in the back of my closet but every now and then I pull them out and give them a new life!

I paired them with this top by one of my new favorite NYC brand, Cinq `a Sept a company that shares it names with French term for the liminal moment linking late afternoon and early evening. The layered silk, off the shoulder and addition of lace make this the perfect top to take from day to night in style.

Hyatt Centric Loop: Chicago

Wednesday, October 12, 2016

While staying in Chicago I stayed at the The Centric Hyatt Loop  located in downtown Chicago. We arrived Thursday night and immediately checked into the hotel and ordered take out from a restaurant nearby. The Hyatt Centric is a hip boutique with spacious rooms that completely make you feel like you re home. After spending one night there I did not want to leave and wanted to steal decor tips for my new apartment in NYC.

One of my favorite parts of the hotel was the rooftop bar, open during the week until 11 pm and on the weekends until 12am. The views from the rooftop are gorgeous with a straight view of the Sears Tower (since renamed the Willis Tower to the dismay of locals...). On our first night in Chicago (before ordering in to our room) we hit the rooftop for a drink before in closed and definitely fell in love with the city.
