Street Florals in Soho

Monday, February 12, 2018

Held twice a year, New York Fashion Week is a time when fashion girls fill up their schedules and bounce around New York from show to show. While I am taking it a bit easier this year I did sign up for a few NYFW events and backstage shows and could not wait to wear this Hewitt Dress from BHLDN.

This past weekend I checked into the Nomo Soho and it was the perfect place to primp for the shows- the floor to ceiling windows let in the perfect light & I enjoyed doing my makeup in the marble bathroom. After slipping into this form fitting dress I honestly did not want to take it off and started to think of all the events and places I could wear this to. I paired this dress with a nude pair of pumps (similar styles: save or splurge) a lucite bag (from the winter box of style) and grabbed a faux fur coat to throw over my shoulders as I headed out.

Stars & Stripes

Monday, February 5, 2018

Wow! I can't believe it's already February and Valentine's Day is right around the corner- every year I try to plan my outfit in advance and this flutter sleeve frilled dress caught my eye. It's not red or pink but I absolutely love the star print and the frills are totally giving me all the Valentine's Day vibes.
While I usually like to opt for a night in on Valentine's my fiance usually cooks for the both of us and I like to actually wear something nice instead of the usual dinner in pajamas.

These over the knee boots have been on my eye for the past few months now and I was so excited when I found them under $100. I actually bought the last pair but I found an almost identical pair for under $100 so if you're looking for a pair for the rest of the season scoop up this deal now!

These sunglasses belonged to my grandmother and are from the 50's. I can't believe how close they are to this pair of Gucci sunglasses but if you're not up to spend that amount here is another great option glitter sunglasses for only $14.

Sweater Overload

Monday, January 29, 2018
There is nothing I love more than oversized chunky knits with cute details and this season has been all about the details. With sweaters having everything from open shoulders to ruffles, bows and even pearls finding the cutest pieces has not been tough and this  OTS sweater definitely does not disappoint.
I paired this sweater with a great pair of slim plaid pants (similar style) making this look perfect to take straight from the office to after work drinks. And because I tend to be on my feet a lot comfort is always key, these silver crackle leather pumps by Naturalizer (90th anniversary limited edition) are perfectly chic and are the perfect pairing for these slim pants.

I love supporting small companies and I cam across Stanfield via instagram. I had been following the company for a while when the owner Janice reached out to me to chat about the line. A few years back Janice had been searching for a functional, water resistant durable bag. Inspired by the outdoors and California's laid back style she developed an everyday tote bag from outdoor canvas and nylon. From here Stanfield was created.
Everything is made locally in her home town of Corpus Christi, TX with the highest quality materials and not only are they durable and water resistant the bags are actually fashion forward. I love this size of this carryall and it's been one of my favorite bags this season since New York weather is completely unpredictable.
Also, I must add as a girl who loves to travel this is the perfect bag to take along- it packs well and has enough room for a girl on-the-go!

Wedding Gown Shopping with I Do I Do

Thursday, January 25, 2018

One of the most exciting parts about planning a wedding is wedding dress shopping. Last month I visited I Do...I Do Bridal Studio and was welcomed by owners Patricia & Leia to try on a handful of beautiful gowns by designer Justin Alexander. Let me give you some background, in October I visited the New York Bridal show with my mom and walked around to get an idea of what I wanted to wear on my wedding day. There were so many beautiful gowns and designs but as we approached the Justin Alexander booth I spotted the most beautiful gown on one of the models. She caught the look on my face as I saw the dress and to my surprise she asked if I wanted to try it on. I was ushered back to the dressing room and slipped on this stunning lace dress and came out to show my mother. We were both in love!

Now being that it was a trade show I was not able to do a proper fitting so I spoke with the team at Justin Alexander because I had to know where their gowns were being sold in the NY/NJ area. And that my friends is how I came to I Do...I Do Bridal Salon- a beautifully curated shop on the most darling avenue located in Morristown New Jersey.
The owners Patricia & Leia as well as my stylist Anna and Rachel from the Justin Alexander team all helped pull a handful of beautiful styles for me to try. I have to say each one was more beautiful than the next and I loved how they all fit and most of all how I felt in them.

So what did I chose? Well, you will have to wait for the big reveal but I will let you know two things:

1. I am head over heels in love with my dress
2. The store owners picked out the design for me and had me try it on last, my mom started tearing up as I exited the fitting room and I knew I had found it.

Stay tuned!

Oversized Sweaters and Over The Knee Boots

Wednesday, January 17, 2018

Hi friends! I took a bit of a hiatus from blogging right after the New Year to recoup from a busy year (don't worry I kept up with my instagram so I was not completely MIA) but I am happy to be back in full action.
Let's fill you in on a few things going on with me!
1. I am in full on wedding planning mode- I booked a place, the food & drinks (very important). I found my dress (it's absolutely gorgeous, stay tuned for where I found it and a sneak peek at some other fab dresses) and now I am thinking decor and all the fine details (see my pinterest board for what is inspiring me).
2. I am prepping for Fashion Week- last year was bitter cold so I have been stocking up on a few faux fur coats to keep me warm as I jet around town (faux fur #1Faux Fur #2).
3. Finally I am trying to sneak off for a short vacay since my last one was in August (where I Just Said Yes ...and yes I am still wokring on my travel guide) and I am in dire need of some sun.

What can you expect from me in terms of posts?

1. More outfits! I am currently changing it up between casual everyday wear like this color block jumper that I paired with OTK Boots and a casual pair of jeans that are one of my go-to pairs and dressier pieces that you can wear out (as seen on instagram).

2. More Sales!! Who doesn't love a sale? I absolutely live for them and love sharing all of my finds with you guys. Head to my Instagram page to see what I have been highlighting you can expect a few new finds a week.
