Black N' White

Wednesday, August 24, 2016

I spotted these shorts at the beginning of the season and made the mistake of not grabbing them right away. After searching three forever21 stores for them they finally made a second appearance online and I snagged them. I love the high waist and tie front and these look perfect with either a tiered top of a body suit. I paired this look with my Dia Sandals from Matt Bernson and headed to meet a friend for drinks in a New York Garden on East 9th street. While I have been trying to add some color to my palette this summer every now and then I resort to classic black and white with a small pop of color and this cross body by Rebecca Minkoff (seen here& here) does just the trick.

I am headed to relax by the lake so make sure you check in to see my live photos!
There are a few items that are "must haves" when packing, check out my picks below:

Fall Flair

Wednesday, August 17, 2016

I don't know about you but I could use a reprieve from this heat wave we are having in New York. At the end of each season I get sick of my closet and can't wait to turn it over for the next season. I've already been searching closet inspo (seen here)  and started my clean out for fall. I am looking forward to leather jackets, floral bombers, warm toned dresses, booties and of course lace chokers. What are your favorite fall trends?

Makeup Tips

Monday, August 15, 2016

A few of you have asked about my "birthday look" (more photos here) - as
I previously mentioned I went out to Williamsburg to have my makeup down by Lauren Cosenza from the blog Divalicious. Lauren has worked on multiple shoots for many different media outlets (Lauren's portfolio) and I was excited to have her create the perfect birthday look for me as she showed me a few tips. What's great about this look is that all the items are budget friendly and goes to show you don't need to spend a fortune to look beautiful!

Lauren matched the look to my romper and chose dusty rose stain for my cheeks and lips and created a smoky eye using a jewel toned liner and charcoal eyeshadow. She toped of the look with bronzed checks and a little highlighter that glistened in the sun.

Long Beach Island

Wednesday, August 10, 2016

I grew up in New Jersey and have been to my share of the Jersey Shore but must admit this was my first time to Lon Beach Island. LBI is a barrier island along the Atlantic Ocean coast of Ocean County  with a single causeway access point. Once on LBI the rest of the world melts away and you definitely forget about city life and all your frustrations. I spent the weekend at the beach (working on my tan) and by the bay as I rented a jet ski and went on a thrill ride. If you are looking for a mini getaway from NYC, LBI is a great place to visit and with only a few weeks left of summer I highly suggest it!
