Spring Accessories + Link Up

Thursday, May 25, 2017
Happy Thursday ladies! Today I am talking about my favorite accessory and how to pair it with different looks throughout the season. I am a true New Yorker and love wearing monochromatic looks however my favorite way to spruce up my look is to add a pop of color. This clutch from Ora Delphine is one of my go-to pieces when it comes to adding a pop of color to my looks and I love the bright yellow especially for spring.

I am excited to co-host this weeks Link Up with a few fabulous bloggers, Jacqueline from Stylin’ In St. Louis and Larissa from Living in Color post post a new link up every Thursday! Ballet Flats

Wednesday, May 24, 2017

As a fashion blogger in NYC I am constantly on the go and honestly when I don't shove a pair of flats in my bag in the morning I seriously regret my decision by about 6pm. Usually the problem is that my bag is too small and I don't want to carry around a pair of shoes that might be a slightly bulky so I try to "man" up but once that pain sets in... there is no going back.
I came across T&N Collection and immediately fell in love with their line of their classic ballet flats. The #1 thing that drew me to the brand was the fact that you can fold them up making them easy to grab on the go. In addition to the fact that they are easy on-the-go, they come in an array of different shades (even some metallics) and you can personalize them making them a great gift (especially for bridesmaids).

As a young girl my mom would always joke that I had no patience when it came to receiving new things, when we would shop at the mall I had to start taking items out in the car and wearing them immediately whether it was bracelets, sunglasses or even shoes. Not much has changed and I tried these on immediately upon receiving them. I was completely surprised with the fit and the level of comfort as I walked around trying them on. Unlike other ballet flats or fold up flats these have a padded sole and a non elastic heel which adds to the level of comfort. And trust me, after an entire day on my feet these ballet flats feel like heaven!

Made of leather these ballet flats are not only comfortable they are luxurious and look great with anything from dresses to jeans. Below is just a sampling of all the colors that are available so head over to the T&N Collection and start shopping for yourself. Stay tuned to see how I styled them later this week.
Rose Gold, Glistening Blue, Berry, Mauve, Eggshell, Gold

Polka Dots

Monday, May 22, 2017

I take any chance I can get to-
a. wear a leather jacket over a dress (also seen here
 b. kick off my heels and wear a pair of sneakers (also seen here)
c. add a pop of color to a black and white look (also seen here)

I threw together this look to meet a friend for brunch at Cafe Medi down on the Lower East Side. Because spring is the time of year when the weather can change in a heartbeat a leather jacket (like this one from Wilsons Leather) is the perfect layering item that you can grab on the go.

I bought this dress at Zara, it's off the shoulder which I love and the back has a cute cut-out that ties in a bow which is great for showing off in the warmer months. I am totally crushing on polka dots this month (also seen here) I tend to gravitate towards the smaller polka dots because I love the subtlety of the pattern.

And, as a true New Yorker you know majority of the time you can find me in some sort of black and white or grey ensemble. Because I like to keep the outfit palette simple a pop of color is always in order. This tote by Tess Handbags is one of my go-to pieces when I need a pop of color. It's bright, it's fresh and it holds everything I need from my makeup bag to even my camera which makes it great for traveling.

What I Wore: Asymmetrical Lamb-Cycle Jacket Wilsons Leather c/o, Dress: Zara, Sneakers: Puma: Basket Platform c/o Six:02, Adele Leather Tote Tess Handbags c/o, Sunglasses: Bobbi Brown Eyewear c/o, Necklace: Leaf-Y Chain Taudrey c/o, Watch: Timex c/o

Dress Files

Friday, May 19, 2017

We got hit hard with the warm weather this week in NYC and while I am not complaining because I would take the sun over snow I have been replacing my jeans with dresses to beat the heat.
On Thursday I woke up and ravaged through my closet and came home and immediately started online shopping so I can fill in gaps in my closet.
Summer, I am ready for you...bring on the heat!

Check out my picks (all budget friendly!)

Happy Shopping!

Ruffle Sleeves

Wednesday, May 17, 2017

Ruffle sleeves popped up on the trending scene towards the end of winter with no sign of
fading out any time soon. Fun and flirty this trend has been seen on everything from tops to dresses and is sure to last all the way through spring and summer.
At first when I saw the trend I was a little nervous to try it on my 5'10 frame, I thought the larger shoulders and sleeves would be entirely unflattering on me but I gave it a go and ended up loving how it looked.
I chose to keep the bottom slim to balance out this look and opted for a pair of skinny jeans and my favorite pointed toe sneakers from Vince.
